Question: I have a fast metabolism and can never really gain any weight! I tried eating 5 meals a day but didn't gain anything until I started weight lifting...since then (about 2 months) I'm probably 6-7 lbs. heavier. My goal is 20 more! How can I do this in a healthy manner? @ storm_totem...I said in a HEALTHY way haha.

The only way to increase mass, is to increase intake. Think of it as a diet in reverse, as in many diets, your intake is uncomfortable, so will this be. Depending on your current height and weight, this could be anywhere between 2750-4000 calories per day. Additionally, you will want a high intake of protein (1 - 1.5 grams per pound of your goal weight). The number 1 best way to do this is clean foods. For protein - Ground beef (medium well and rinse it in hot water to remove the fat then fry until done). This is a big bulker with tons of protein. One pound of this is about 90 grams of protein and 600 calories. Chicken and tuna are great as well. Eat a lot of pasta (with meat). Have 2 pasta meals a week or more. The best way to go for breakfast is whats easy. Cereal and whole mik. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART. Once you are at your goal weight, you need to stop your diet. You return to a normal 2000-2500 calorie range. Continue with you lifting as well. Lifting will play a big role in who those extra calories are utilized. Best of Luck.

I have the same problem. dont eat junk food all the time or fast food. that stuff will screw up your body. i heard eating alot of pasta or foods with alot of grain (because of all the carbohydrates) are good for gaining weight. but also eat alot of fruits and veggies to keep your vitamins up. if you are lifting then i suggest protien as well for muscles. if you are losing weight fast, see a doctor because i can be something very serious

The pill works by increasing levels of hormones to mimic pregnancy, so side effects from the pill are often similar to those of pregnancy (weight gain, moodiness, headache, sore breasts, etc). Not all women gain weight from taking bc pills. For those who do, diet and exercise don't really control the weight gain. You really won't know how your body will respond until you take it.
