Question: I am just curious - are there really a lot of people out there that eat a raw food diet, like I saw on Wife Swap last night?

I thought it was ridiculous the way the interactions were. If the raw diet family really wanted them to learn about and try raw foods why didn't she start with a raw vegetarian diet with an emphasis on fruits and familiar veggies. It was plain sensationalism that raw-Mom wanted to slaughter a chicken and have teh Urban-Father eat it raw. Likewise, of course the kids felt sick when they had burgers and fries for their first cooked meal in years. That episode (show) was just about validating people's self perception rather than asking people to reevaluate their lifestyle.

No. As a matter of fact, you'll probably end up losing weight since whole foods containing fiber, protein and fat actually make you FEEL fuller for a much longer period of time. Additionally, most liquids are concentrated in calories meaning in just a small serving you are taking in alot of calories. This is why sodas and juices made from concentrate are so bad for you.

Well, I dont watch wife swap, but I enjoy my raw diet. I went from being completely crippled and bedbound 2 years ago, to being healthy and active now. Going out sledding with my little girl just here in a minute. After I eat this lovely raw lasagne I made and will have with a glass of raw milk straight from the cow.

there is a raw food diet with only veggs and fruits, that's no meat . not alot of people eat raw meat, less then 1% of popluation

why is this in the vegetarian section? that aside, i thought it was very offensive the way that family was portrayed. there are some very good arguments for a raw food diet and we should not be ridiculing it.

I saw that last night too, how can they not get sick from eating raw meat. They are going to be sick one day. I know of raw vegan who eat raw vegetable but not raw meat.

gawd i hope not!!!! we DVR'd wife swap, we are totally sick, what the _____ is high meat, omg there can't be many people out there that eats raw meat, some people like their steak rare & some like their eggs not so done, omg, are they raw food dieters LOL

Fat burning foods: citrus foods, soy beans, apples, berries, fresh fruit, asparagus, beets, cabbage, carrots, celery (raw), cucumber, garlic, lettuce, radishes, tomatoes. Here are some foods that help speed up metabolism: milk, whole-grains, oatmeal, jalapeno, habanero, cayenne, green tea, lean beef and chicken, salmon, tuna, and sardines. Likely there are some foods on that list that you do not want to eat so i would choose a couple that sound good to you and try to add them to your diet. Mainly you will want to lower your saturated fat intake and totally eliminate trans-fats. Drink as much water as you possibly can in a day, this helps to flush fat, toxins, and stored water that makes us bloat. Hope that this helps, good luck=)
