Question: I am a 25 year old woman, I'm 5'8 and weigh about 173 lbs. I eat TERRIBLE and drink light beer sometimes dark beer daily. I'm trying to jump start my weight loss as I'm seriously sick of looking at myself in the mirror. If I did some sort of fad liquid diet for 10 days, and lost maybe 10 lbs, and then immediately went on to a 1200-1300 calorie diet with 3-5 weekly visits to the gym, would I gain the weight back from the liquid diet? I know people say you gain it back because most people go right back to bad eating habits, but if this was just a jumpstart before a normal healthy diet, would this work? Also, I might not STRICTLY do just liquid. Maybe throw in some raw fruit/vegetables to keep my sanity. Opinions?

Given your height, I'd say you only need to lose between 7 and 14 pounds to be a healthy weight. Why are you worrying? Give up the beer - at least five days out of seven - that'll probably sort you out!! Then eat a healthy balanced diet of REAL food - Easy!

I am also a 22 year old man who used to eat fast food at least one meal every day. For sure, it gets extremely addicting (just watch the movie "Supersize Me!"). The first step is to break this addiction. One diet that I'm starting to adopt is called the mucusless diet. I'm studying to be an herbalist, and this is part of the curriculum. Basically, you eat only fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, and seeds, and no refined sugars or dairy products. If you would like more info, check out this link: http://www.herballegacy.com/ . The most important thing is to adopt a new eating lifestyle gradually. Don't just all of a sudden cut out foods that you ate every day. For example: instead of Jif peanut butter, try natural peanut butter. This will cut out the dangerous hydrogenated oils. After a while of gradual changes, you will feel alot better. Trust me, I know!

I am a fad dieter. So from my past experiences 1200 calories would be A LOT. if you go on a fad diet, you will have to add calories gradually. I would recommend starting with fresh vegetables. maybe some home cooked soup! then add fruits (this is because of the sugar in fruits) on the 4th day you can eat some toast, not white bread though! after a week adding food little by little you can go back to your 1200 calorie diet, which should also be low carb and low fat. To be honest there is a probability you gain a few pounds back, because most of the weight loss is water weight. but if you do it the right way you wont gain everything back, and you'll look stunning in no time. OH , and by the way if its your first time fasting (or liquid fasting) you can really incorporate some fruits or vegetables. Dont forget to exercise! Good luck!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read. I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off. It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise. Get started today!

It shouldn't gain it back. Why not just start out with the normal health diet and exercise though? No real need for the crazy liquid fasts. Best of luck!

fast food is salty food if you cut back on the salt in a few weeks youll be able to better taste the natural salts in food and may not crave the junk as much as you used to

make sure you check food labels and avoid anything with more than 4 grams of sugar especially high fructose corn syrup per serving

never eat any snack food out of the box carton or bag it came in you re less likely to overeat if you separate snacks into appropriate fist sized servings
