Question: I'm 13 and want to slim down a bit, I don't wanna be super muscular, because to me that's pretty ugly. I'm also a vegetarian, if that helps. And I'm not too sure on my height or weight, sorry.

since you're vegetarian, it would take a lot more effort for you to be muscular or bulky, so don't worry about that. Slim down by combining exercise with a proper diet. Don't lose weight too quickly aim for 1-2 lbs per week. What you have to do is figure out your daily calorie needs by using a BMR calculator. If you can't afford to be so active, deduct your calories by 500 everyday to lose 1lb in a week, but the best way really is to combine it with a good 30 minute worth of moderate cardio 6 days a week like jogging at a speed of 8 km/hr or an hour of swimming laps. Don't wear yourself out and just start with a routine that's relatively comfortable and build your intensity as you go. Try to avoid processed food and sweets and stick to natural options. Try to have a ratio of 30% - 40% carbs, 30% - 35% protein and the remainder for fat. Fat doesn't make you fat, it's the kind of fat you're eating. Natural fats from nuts, seeds, etc. are good and would help manage your cravings so you don't over eat. Try to lift weights 3 times a week for good muscle toning and eat 5 - 6 small meals a day. Take your daily multivitamins and calcium supplements and get a good 7 - 9 hrs of sleep everyday. Avoid liquid calories. Fruit is better than just juice and definitely cross out soft drinks from your diet. Because you're vegan it would be harder for you to reach your protein needs, so try drinking protein drinks with one or two meals. There are soy protein supplements out there and textured vegetable protein. Nuts, mushrooms and some legumes are also high in protein so you could still stick to your vegetarian lifestyle. Don't beat yourself up if you overeat sometimes, after all you're just 13 and your body will probably use the extra calories for growth and development, but still aim to have a clean eating regimen 80% of the time to optimize your metabolism. how is your diet like? i would suggest you should eat low GI food, less sauces and stay with more vegetables and fruits. regular exercise would help you to achieve a toned body. it is not that easy to be muscular, those bodybuilders take much effort to train and gain the muscles. regular exercise will tighten your skin and improve blood circulation. also, you can try using slimming creams. Natrim is a reliable slimming cream that i've always be using. it keeps my tummy firm and flap. i find it so good that ive been telling all my friends. :) probably you can give it a try ( thought it is a bit pricey) you can also try those open shelf slimming creams, but they are chemically made and the effect are really poor.
