Ok, so over the past few weeks I have changed my eating habits and am only eating 1200 calories of unprocessed and healthy food such as fruits, veggies, whole grains, and fish and chicken. I don't drink any kind of sodas or juice, only water. Between 8 and 10 glasses a day. And I'm also making sure I get at least 20 grams of fiber each day. So why is it I've all of a sudden become constipated?? I've never had this problem before, only now that I've cut out all the sodas and junk! I've been like this for almost 3 weeks and I feel horrible. Is there anything else I could try besides constantly taking laxatives to maybe get things "moving" again??

I strongly suggest you try drinking 2 tbsps of raw, unfiltered, organic Apple Cider Vinegar (Ms Bragg is the best there is, it doesn't have to be her but just make sure it is all I described and has the "mother") FIRST thing in the morning everyday (Before you EAT or DRINK ANYTHING) in at least a cup of water. It's so gross to me but I have to do it because it's the only aid I know would only benefit than hurt me and it's the only thing my digestive system agrees with, and I have a VERY stubborn digestive. Prunes, a load of greens, apples and other fiber rich foods won't work on me, and I've tried every resort possible. ACV seemed to work the best for me.

I know this may sound a little crazy but if your dog is constipated she can eat a little canned pumpkin. it is kinda like a natural laxative. I do not recommend suppositories at all. How ever you can use a stool softener.they usually come in the form of a gel cap. The active ingredient you are looking for is Ducosate Sodium. We use this all the time at the Vet clinic I work at.
In addition to the things said above, your body might be getting rid of all the old stuff in your colon. Also, you might need a colon cleanse. There are different types - some you can eat during and some ask that you don't eat. If you have a good health food store near you, the salesperson might know about the different ones they have there. There is also a lot of info on this on the web.
I always think the gentler ones are best - but it's really a personal decision.

Do not "constantly take laxatives".
Those will surely mess up your system.
If you eat 1200 calories of healthy food and no junk, you should get an easy BM every day.
Lay off the laxative and give a few days for your body to readjust.
Do not even try to do #2 without the urge for it.

you should eat lots of bananas and weetbix to get more fibre in your systema nd ease the flow
you may have a type of constpaiton due to partial obstuciton due to canncers or other tumors in the wall of the intestine or pressing on it from the outside, or adhesions, strictures or displacements of the bowel. IN this case, you should see a doctor

body is readjusting to the shock of healthy food, try adding some yogurt. add more fiber, like cheerios, fiber 1, beans, lentils etc. are you eating cheese, it can be somewhat constipating.

you may be having it because of stress
you should go to the dr or hospital to get an enema, which will help you have a bowel movement
don't take any more laxatives, they're obviously not helping

Some things such as narcotics, antidepressants and other medications can cause nearly constant constipation. Some women have constipation every month associated with their period. For some people, "normal" may be going once every 2 or 3 days. Once a day isn't normal for everyone.
