Well I am taking the medication doxycycline hyclate for almost a week now I either take 1 or 2 a day could this have been the cause of it? if so, what can i do about it? Not take the pills or just take one a day?

Drink lots of water and caffeine. Caffeine is a natural diuretic (if you consider caffeine natural).

I know this may sound a little crazy but if your dog is constipated she can eat a little canned pumpkin. it is kinda like a natural laxative. I do not recommend suppositories at all. How ever you can use a stool softener.they usually come in the form of a gel cap. The active ingredient you are looking for is Ducosate Sodium. We use this all the time at the Vet clinic I work at.
Try a glass (8-10 oz) of warm prune juice.
If that doesn't work, use a laxative such as milk of magnesia. If THAT doesn't work, consider an enema laxative, you can find them at the grocery store.
Of none of those things work for you, call the doctor for more personalized advice.
Also, you should try to figure out why you are so constipated. It's usually related to your diet, but can have other causes such as low activity level or medications....

Some things such as narcotics, antidepressants and other medications can cause nearly constant constipation. Some women have constipation every month associated with their period. For some people, "normal" may be going once every 2 or 3 days. Once a day isn't normal for everyone.
