Hello All ~ I started Atkins July 6th. I weighed myself this morning and have already lost 11 pounds. Is this safe? Im scared to know what I would have lost if I didnt cheat and actually exercised. Thursday night I inhaled a pack of double stuffed Oreos and Friday I had 6 weight watchers sorbet pops. I brought them with the intention of rationing them throughout the week but the carb count is so high I just ate them. Anyone experience weight loss like this while following the program so loosely? I tried Atkins back in 2002 and stopped because I lost 6 lbs after being on the program for a day, but at this time I was in school and working out 3-4 hours a day so I figured that was why. Ive never been able to lose lots of weight when controlling portions so eating so much and losing so much has me nervous. Any ideas? By the way Im 5'6 and weight 169 now....
I will check out that link now; Also, I did lose 6 lbs within 24 hours on Atkins. However, during that day I barely ate carbs just grilled meats and one small cup of salad with oil and vinegar, with my normal workout. It may have been water weight but it was 6 lbs. I immediately stopped.

For Atkins, That type of weight loss is completely normal because your burning stored fat for energy instead of carbs and sugars. I would suggest doing the diet the right way. Your very lucky you didn't gain wait by cheating. It takes a while for your body to hit the point to switching to it's alternative fuel system (fat). Every time you eat massive carbs or sugars it reverts to the correct way. There's no way you lost 6lbs in 1 day from Atkins. That's not enough time for your body to make the switch. You may have lost 6lbs. But it's wasn't Atkins. If you don't have the willpower to do the diet correctly do another one. Jumping on and off Atkins will guarantee the weight comes back. Getting OFF the diet is a slow process if you want the weight to stay off.

The Atkins Diet honestly is NOT your answer. The quicker you lose weight, the faster it comes back on. Also, I just finished a 300 level Nutrition class, and I have learned that taking away the foods from the MAIN food pyramid is NOT good for your body, whatsoever. I don't want to bore you with side effects, but they include heart and liver problems.
I don't mean to discourage your diet plans, but I don't want you to harm your body either. Good luck.

Well....that's weird. Maybe you should try the acai berry too. I've heard people get great results from that, but the ali pill doesn't help that Much. It's supposed to "help" you lose weight by promoting energy & stuff like that but doesn't work for everyone. I think you should try the acai berry pills-they are natural & safe too.
I I haven't tried either honestly but i've heard lots of great things about the acai berry pills but not much about the ali pills. Also your right to be taking a laxative & water pill. Make sure your drinking plenty of water, and also maybe that's just water weight? Try this diet for about another week & you still see no results try something else.
Also amazon.com has lots of diet pills including acai berry-only try the ones with plenty of reviews to be safe or go to a drug store.
