Question: My bmi is 17.5 so i know i'm underweight. Please give me tips on how to gain it. First of all please dont tell me to eat more because i know that and you'll be waisting my time and yours. And in your answer dont just talk about how i'm lucky to be so skinny because its not that great... I just need tips on how to gain more weight. Like what food i should eat and when i should eat. Thanks in advance

Carbohydrates, especially sugars and starches, especially if you are active. You want to send the signal to your body that it is okay to use energy on growing. The best time to send this signal is right after you exercise, so you should definitely try to eat around that time. You need to consume a lot of calories without filling yourself up in order to put yourself into a positive calorie balance. Don't just follow the opposite of what people say to lose weight: you should still eat some protein, get your fibrous vegetables, all your nutrition. Beyond that though the most effective way to gain weight is to slam carbs. Baked/sweet potato, bread (especially bagels), fruit and fruit juice, rice, corn, and milk are all very good foods for weight gain. You might think fatty foods are very good but the reality is fatty foods are very filling. If you still have trouble losing weight, you might try some "weight gainers" made for athletes trying to bulk up, which are really just drinks loaded with an absurd number of calories. Liquid calories are super easy to consume and are generally no more filling than water. Also do not skip breakfast, avoid caffeine and other stimulants, stay active (it will make you hungrier), get plenty of sleep, and take sufficient time off between workouts (listen to your body, its hard to say how much time off is enough). These are all very, very important, especially sleep! That is when your body will put your excess calories to work and you will gain weight, hopefully primarily lean weight if you are active.

basically eat what ever you want, just not a lot of junk food. it's better to gain weight through healthy food. also, eat a little more than you usually would at each meal. :)

Okk.---i'll probabl say eat more because its the only way----- Eating more like--- often ---- breakfast- Break- --lunch- Break- -- snack----- diner--. ... Put more food on the plate but not much--- you diet should compose of mainly carbs if you want a boost ----- but remember do it carefully or you will end up in situations where you willl start loosing air- fart-- hhhh sooo good luck----be carefull -- i tell ya

if u are talking about food i really don't know..but u can do some exercises In order to build ur muscles. if u do that ur going to achieve ur goal some how.

Hey! I'm 6ft & used to weigh 120lb, so I know where you're coming from. For people like us, it's as hard to put on weight as it is for other people to lose it! You're probably not going to like my answer, but it did help me to put on 20lb in about 2 months. First, eat more regularly, but make sure you get a lot of protein in. Meat, eggs, hard cheese, and protein shakes! Personally I eat 6 times a day, every three hours. I make all my meals a head of time, so when time to eat comes around. I just take out some stir fry out of the fridge, have a shake, or even just eat some cheese or nuts! For people like us, we need to eat a lot as our bodies just digest it so quickly and discard anything left that isn't deemed as absolutely necessary to keep. So, you have to do something to get your body want to digest more, which is where you need to do some weight training. Yes I know.. probably not what you're after :) I have a pretty hectic lifestyle myself, so these days I have weights at home that I exercise with while watching TV or whatever. What you're after is lifting heavy weights with fewer repetitions. That will encourage your muscles to grow and will get your body to absorb more of the food you eat. I've put this stuff off for years, but after deciding to make the time for it, I have to say I really prefer having put on some weight! BUT anyways, if you really just want something fast, eat lots of nuts and throw in a protein shake (with flax seed oil in it!!) PS, once you start to eat more regularly, you start to get hungry more regularly, so the appetite will follow :)
