Question: i want to try it because i just bought it yesterday to see if it helps keep me calm.and i also take krll oil works better than fish oil. and ill problaly try st johns wort too.

My wife takes valerian root sometimes for anxiety and has had good results. We have both tried hypnosis as well and that also seems to work great. There is a website that offers a live free hypnosis session for stress or whatever problems you have. That is www.hypnoforsuccess.com I just found out that they will be up and running in 4 or 5 weeks. It is definitely worth the wait as it is free. You can try hypnosis along with valerian root and it might help you. Good luck.

I have never tried valerian root for anxiety. I have found exercise works wonders for depression and anxiety. Start small and work up to 30-60 minutes a day. Walking works fine. Riding a bike is good. I ride about 60 minutes 5 days a week and it has made a huge difference in my life. I am emotionally unflappable, I sleep great every night, and I have lost 60 lb. I think exercise is a better solution than any kind of drugs. Good luck.

I've used valerian root and I can't say I've noticed any difference. I take it before bed to help me sleep but to be honest it doesn't really work. I've never tried st Johns Wort For anyone who is wondering, Valerian Root is not a drug, it's a herbal remedy.

I agree it is more likely the medications causing this. Herbs have an effect on the body, and valerian is considered a 'heating herb' , and with your anxiety , it is likely not the optimal herb for you to use. The drugs you are taking are not going to heal your underlying reason for anxiety so i would hope that you would find the source of it , and then work on healing it. Perhaps an oriental doctor would help you heal it. You could also get a therapist like this eftmasters.com to help you resolve the anxiety.
