You burn fat on your stomach by losing fat overall. There is no quick or easy way. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me. Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why. Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars. Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can't get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one. In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don't. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies. Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day. Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day. Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body. This sounds like the 5 pounds of stubborn fat. A lot of people have this problem, it's where your body stores any excess fat and the only way to get rid of it is to make changes to your diet and routine. You may have to resort to methods such as carb cycling or low calorie days followed by refeed days. However, the lower the amount of fat you have, the harder it is to burn because fat oxidation decreases. The abdominal exercises would work to strengthen the abs and to perhaps make them visible, but the fat would remain and building muscle is going to be difficult for a reason I am about to explain. You said that you run every day and play travel soccer, these are both aerobic activities. This is going to work against you because aerobic activities are inherently catabolic (they break down muscle as well as fat), When you say you want to get rid of that bottom bulge, what you are asking is how to lower your body fat percentage. Since these activities are catabolic, as you lose weight, you are going to be losing muscle and the body fat percentage is going to go down at a slower rate. This is why you don't see many heavy bodybuilders running long distance. You also might find that lowering your body fat will leave you without enough energy to perform these activities. Since you are talking about longer periods of aerobic activity, fat becomes the main energy store. A couple pounds of fat as a buffer makes a big difference.

There's no easy way. It takes time and effort. As far as foods its pretty simple. Cut out sugary, fatty and processed foods. Eat little and often. Snack on fruits. If you're hungry then add extra veg to your dinner, rather than meat or potatoes. Its ok to allow yourself treats at times, especially if your training has been good as well. Getting obsessed about it can get you demotivated at times. The best exercises are cardio exercises. They are the ones that get your heart working which will in turn increase your metabolism. These exercises include jogging, swimming, cycling, aerobics etc. These are the basics of losing weight, but they are also the most effective.

I have the same issue (although my weight tends to fluctuate based on how much school work I have!) The solution is easy: find a way to get exercise 5-6 days a week for 1-1.5 hours a day. It is not as hard to schedule in as it may seem. But remember that work out video's hardly ever work for people because they become boring and are to hard to maintain. My suggestion (what I do when I am not busy with Uni) is this: From monday to Friday (or saturday) find 2 hours of the day where you are not as busy Spend 45 min - 1 hour doing cardio exercise and 30 min doing weight training. Here is the thing though: If you do the same weight training every day you will end up hurting yourself from over exertion. Change it up, do upper body one day, lower body the next day, and than switch. any time you have left is time for you to shower and relax. Remember, if you feel like two hours a day is to much remember this: It has been proven in a variety of studies that people work 3 times as hard and stay 3 times more focused when that have regular exercise in their life (which means that any work you will be doing after hours should be easier to do). Take it easy to begin with, the worst thing you can do is over exert yourself and not want to work at it any longer. Build up how long you work out for and gradually do more intense exercise's. Don't forget to eat healthy as well. T The hardest thing you can do is change your eating habits. When eating divide your plate as such: 1/4 protein (meat, cheese etc) 1/4 Carbs (pasta, potatoes etc) 1/2 veggies If you can get into doing that 2-3 meals a day you will be laughing. Also don't over do it with this to. Try to eat differently 3-5 meals for the first week or two, than build up to a goal of 2-3 meals a day. And lastly (I mean it this time) keep pushing through, people get turned off by eating well and exercise because they don't see as drastic results as soon as they want to. If you can really get yourself going, I can assure you, you will notice a difference within the first week (it will be a small one) and a fairly large difference within the next month and so on. I wish you luck with getting rid of that flab, and hopefully a very healthy lifestyle!
