Advice on weight loss?
Topic: Advice on weight loss?

Ok, I recently began exercising at the beginning of the year. I am 19 and I weigh 200 lbs and my goal is to get down to 135 lbs. So I began exercising EVERY night. I get on the treadmill and it has a setting for calorie goals. I burn 300 calories on the treadmill, and also bench press, do 50 sit-ups, lap-pulls, and twists. Now I know there is no pills, or anything to help me lose 20 lbs in a week. LOL! I've been watching what I eat cutting out fatty foods, drinking water, but is there anything that can help me with my diet? Also how many calories do you think I burn along with the lap-pulls, sit-ups, and twists, it has to be MORE than just the 300 calories I burn on the treadmill. Any advice helps! Thanks!

There are many good weight loss programs out there. You just need to find the one that fits in with your lifestyle and motivation. Some are designed for rapid weight loss and others employ a slower long term approach. You can find a lot of help on the web these days, information and support forums. I listed some popular sources that might help you.

First off you do not have to spend any money at all to get health and shed a few extra pounds. Anyone that says you need to spend money is either after your money or is on some kind of scam.
Weight loss and getting in good shape is just eating a little less and being a little more active.
Walk more, drive less. If you drive, park 5 minutes walk away form your destination...
About the eating; nothing special is going to shed the weight, so eat what you normally eat, just a bit less. Less fat in meals will instantly help with weight loss.
All these gimmicks and spending money we don't have and don't actually need to spend really make me mad.
My GF and I go for a long walk (30 minutes) every night - rain or sine after out evening meal. If you search on Zuzana on YouTube, she has some excellent exercises you can do at home They all work in getting you beach ready!
Best wishes, RR
I work out quite a bit and the best advise that I have is quit counting calories. I personlly don't think that counting calories works. You are doing a good thing by cutting out fatty foods and drinking lots of water. Make sure to eat breakfast everyday! It will help you feel fuller throughout the day and your metabolism will increase if you do. Make sure your breakfast is healthy. Like a wheat bagel with whipped or low-fat cream cheese and a cup of fruit, like an apple, orange, or any berries. Throughout the rest of your day eat smaller portions more often..(DO NOT try to starve yourself, this is not good for you). If you need a snack...ALWAYS reach for fruit.
Great Job working out!!! I would advise that you work on target areas so that your body has time to recover and also you don't get exhausted!!
Monday work on arms/no ab work/20-30 min cardio
Tuesday work on back/ab work/no cardio
Wednesday work on chest/no ab work/20-30 min cardio
Thursday take off
Friday work on legs/no ab work/10-20 min cardio
Saturday do cardio only
Sunday take off
This is just an idea of what you can do. There are many different structures for different people. But this will help you get on the right track.Hope this helps! Great Job so far! keep it up!!

First of all, I must advise you NOT to try to lose weight unless it is actually healthy. If you are trying to be healthier, I suggest you listen to your body. There will be a distinctive sigh when you are no longer hungry and don't eat when you're bored. Eat healthy foods, and cut down on eating chips and other fats. If you are serious about losing weight, talk to your doctor about how many calories you need a day and work out a list of foods good for you. Don't be fooled by restaurants' sizes. DOn't feel obligated to cling your plate. Only eat what you need.

Remember that while you are burning 300 calories on the treadmill, you burn more throughout the day after the workout. I would recommend adding rest days as well. Change up your workout routines every 3 weeks so your body doesnt get used to the workouts and adds muscle confusion. This will help you burn more fat as well. I lost 70lbs using the program on my site. There are a lot of great tools you might find beneficial as well there. It is all free. Good luck.
