Question: I'm 17, 5'5, and 136 pounds but I am very active and work out a lot, so most of my weight is muscle. However i would like to shed about 10 pounds because I'm going on vacation in a few weeks and don't want to look bad in a bikini. I know the best way to lose weight is eating less and working out more, but is there ANY other way to lose weight QUICKLY, because a pound or two a week is not enough for me????

When attempting to diet and exercise always remember this. In order to lose one pound of fat you need to work off 3,500 calories. Now, on top of that you would also need to work off the calories that you've taken in from that day as well. Logically, there's no such thing as a 'fast' diet. Pills and things of that nature might help you lose a few pounds a week (losing more than 3 lbs a week and your muscle mass decreases) but you will notice that once you stop taking them, you gain all the weight back and sometimes more. Long term diet pill usage has been proven to be hazardous to your health and you can become addicted. I would not advise taking those risks especially when all you need to do is have a structured diet and well planned workouts. If you worked really hard on perfecting your diet regiment and stuck to your workout plan you would probably start to see results in about a month. If quick diets actually worked, their wouldn't be an issue with obesity. I can garuntee this isn't the answer you wanted, but it is the truth and you will find that "fad diets" will not actually work regardless of what everyone says.

To gain 2 pounds per week, double it and eat 1,000 calories more than you're burning everyday. To gain muscle, in addition to eating more you also have to stimulate them with enough through resistance training that when they recover, they'll get bigger and stronger. Eat a lot less and eat lots of celary and carrots (negative calorie foods). Do lots of cardio and do not lift.

The only way to lose weight this fast is to lose water weight (like when wrestlers and boxers need to cut weight fast so they sit in plastic suits in a sauna for a long time). This, however, is only temporary weight loss and it won't make you look any better in a bikini. You are at a healthy weight and I'm sure you look fine, you will most likely see yourself in a worse light than anyone else will. Just put on your bikini and have fun.

I read that the standard weight guide for a film star is 100 pounds for the first five feet and then 5 pounds per inch after than that.....so it means that by filmstar standards you are only 11 pounds overweight .... have some strawberries !! Oh...healthy to lose weight quickly? No ... and since you have time, just take it easy with your diet, eat wholesome food and be sure you take a dance class or something fun.
