Am I constipated? Topic: Am I constipated?

Question: For last year are so my stool has been coming out like little balls sometimes a lot and sometimes just a few. I know this isn't normal. Am I constipated? what's normal stool suppose to look like again? And what can I do about it? I do eat cheese and other dairy but i have all my life and it's never done this before... why now?

Constipation is usually caused by dehydration. You need to drink a lot of water (and it should be water...not sodas or coffee!). Also, you should see a physician. Being constipated for a year could be an indication of something more serious.

You probably need to improve your diet as you seem to have a constipation problem. For constipation, castor oil is very good for a one-off remedy as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22c... but it is unsuitable for regular use. For constipation, suppositories, laxatives and enemas are all totally unnecessary if you eat the right foods. All fruit and vegetables in very large amounts are laxative. You need to permanently change your diet or you are likely to get colon cancer. Constipation can make you extremely unwell and can lead to colon cancer as it causes a build up of carcinogenic toxins in the system. The intake of foods such as milk, cheese, white rice, white flour and red meat should be restricted, because they tend to contribute to constipation. Any food that has had the fiber stripped out, the nutrients processed out or slows down the digestion is a constipation culprit. Here's a list of foods shown to cause constipation problems: •Meats, especially fatty meats, red meat and processed meats, •Dairy Products, such as cheese, ice cream and whole milk, •Fast Foods – burgers, French fries and other fried foods, pizza, etc., •Refined grains, like white rice or any refined white flour products, •Highly starchy foods – white potatoes, corn and all refined grains, •Pastries and other high sugar products, such as cakes, cookies and pies, •Deep-fried foods, chips and other foods that are high in bad fats. Your body's physiology can change over time, so just because something never gave you problems before doesn't mean it won't eventually. This is the same reason why people can develop allergies later in life. Try making sure you get plenty of fiber in your diet, as well as water - lack of either is the main cause of constipation. Make sure to balance your diet out as well, get plenty of fruits and vegetables. Too much dairy can wreak havoc on most peoples' digestive system - not everyone is "lactose intolerant" but there is absolutely no such thing as 100% "lactose tolerant."

You need to add fiber to give your stools bulk, water will help keep the stools soft. You can also try a stool softener. Add fiber little by little to avoid getting gassy and bloated. Try fresh fruits, vegetable and nuts. If the condition doesn't seem to improve and you start having stomach aches, fever, etc. you might want to check with a doctor.

constipation is when you don't pass stool for 3-7 days, there become many sides effect like distention,headaches, pain with defication. if you have this problems try to drink a lot of water ( 1 liter before breakfast) and other 1-2 allover the day. eat a lot of vegetables,salates and decrease rice, bread, take care

why not try fibre gel from the chemist. i had orange flavour . i had a sachet every morning and with in a week i was regular again in. i think if u are stressed,worried, anxious or even just day to day living might have a effect on you. try drinking more water as well. don't strain too hard u will end up with piles

Not trying to freak you out but it's a possibility that you might have hemorrhoids (if you don't usually drink water--like when you where a kid or something). hemorrhoids are wads of veins that sit and the end of your rectum. so theyre pretty painful. you may wanna grab a mirror and check down there. they can be very painful because they block the flow of...poo...and cause constipation if thats not the case you probably have a regular (sorta) case of constipation. try laxatives and avoid things like cheese and ice cream. well, wait, you already did that. um...try going in for a colonoscopy for your doctors to view your colon. you can also try a colonic. a colonic is where water is released into your colon and sent into your intenstine with a tube that is inserted in your anus and the water would cause the muscles of the colon to contract and feces will feel the pressure and sort of flow out into a closed waste system. basically, you're getting cleaned out. you'll feel a bit of discomfort in the abdomen but you'll get cleaned out :] good luck!
