Look up intravenous vitamin c and you will find your answer, just in case you cant figure it out the answer is that it does help. You have to keep in mind the news is run by governments and corporations, whose only real purpose is to profit, they do that by selling you cough medicine, not vitamin c, and they dont care thats its a baby, or a child, they will sell drugs to anyone. Echinacea and vitamin c combined will assist your immune system and help battle the virus, it will speed the healing process, but you will first have die off symptoms that will seem as if the condition is getting worse. It temporarily gets worse before it gets better.

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) assists the body in the production of collagen, a basic component of connective tissues. Collagen is an important structural element in blood vessel walls, gums, and bones, making it particularly important to those recovering from wounds and surgery. How does Vitamin C Help? Vitamin C is a very important nutrient. Vitamin C may work against high blood pressure (hypertension), by protecting levels of nitric oxide, a natural chemical in the body that helps relax blood vessels. Vitamin C promotes healthy teeth and gums, helps in the absorption of iron, aids in the maintenance of normal connective tissue, and promotes wound healing. It also helps the body's immune system. Vitamin C Deficiency - Lack of vitamin C can lead to a condition called scurvy, which causes muscle weakness, swollen and bleeding gums, loss of teeth, and bleeding under the skin, as well as tiredness and depression. Vitamin C deficiency also causes wounds to heal slowly. Individuals who are likely to be vitamin c deficient are people suffering from: * AIDS * Alcoholism * Burns * Cancer * Diarrhea (prolonged) * Fever (prolonged) * Infection (prolonged) * Intestinal diseases * Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) * Stomach ulcer * Stress(continuing) * Surgical removal of stomach * Tuberculosis * Infants receiving unfortified formulas * Smokers * Patients using an artificial kidney (on hemodialysis) * Patients who undergo surgery * Individuals who are exposed to long periods of cold temperatures There is not adverse side effects if Vitamin C is taken as prescribed -

The technological know-how isn't settled in this concern. "The learn shows that diet C supplementation does certainly decrease the frequency of colds. The possibility of affected by 3 colds over the direction of the learn era grow to be decreased via sixty six% interior the team supplementing at 500 mg/day." [a million] Or this quote: "a minimum of 30 controlled medical trials (many double-blind and placebo-controlled) concerning a finished of over eleven,000 contributors have been performed. diet C in doses commencing from 2 hundred mg to 2,000 mg according to day (the dosage variety used in a extensive majority of the learn) reduces the era of colds via 7% for adults and 15% for little ones." [a million] So some learn say specific and a few say no. So what's a individual to do? nicely we now that diet C is water-soluble and that any extra would be excreted via the physique. We additionally understand that diet C is amazingly much low cost and in ample grant. the biggest of direction is the quantity taken and for a fashion long. a individual who takes 500 mg each and every each and every so often will journey plenty distinctive outcomes than the guy who takes 1000 mg each and every hour on the 1st signs and indicators of sickness. Given the secure practices checklist of diet supplementations i might particularly take a sprint too plenty than no longer take sufficient and be at greater threat.

I would highly recommend that you look into glutathione. Glutathione: The Body's Master Antioxidant glutathione (GSH) is a small protein produced naturally in our cells when certain required elements are present. It functions both as an antioxidant and an antitoxin and is a major defense system against illness and aging. Our glutathione level actually indicates our state of health and can predict longevity. Although there are more than 60,000 published papers on the beneficial effects of glutathione replacement, it is still largely ignored by mainstream medicine. . In the near future the importance of glutathione will be widely recognized because it has the ability to boost the immune system and fight off the damage of free radicals on the cells. Glutathione has been shown to slow down the aging process, detoxify and improve liver function, strengthen the immune system, and reduce the chances of developing cancer. Glutathione also works to help improve mental functions, increase energy, improve concentration, permit increased exercise, and improve heart and lung function - just to name a few. Increasing Age and Other Factors Reduce the Body’s Production and Utilization of GSH. Research has shown that individuals who have low levels of glutathione are susceptible to chronic illness. Research shows that GSH levels decline by 8% to 12% per decade, beginning at the age of 20. Levels of glutathione are further reduced by continual stress upon the immune system such as illness, infection, and environmental toxins. As we now know, a lowered immune system can bring about illness and disease. This is a ferocious cycle. While you need glutathione for a productive immune system, a weakened immune system hampers the production of glutathione. Supplements Containing Glutathione Alone Will NOT Increase the Body’s GSH Levels. It is pointless to purchase supplements that merely contain glutathione, because the digestive system breaks down ingested glutathione and it will not be absorbed into your system. On the other hand, MaxGXL™ provides the proper nutrients needed to promote the body's own ability to manufacture and absorb glutathione. MaxGXL™ also aids in liver support by destroying environmental poisons helping the liver to function as the main production site and storehouse for glutathione. Vit C helps the immune system and is an important building block for natural immunity - but it does not PREVENT, by itself, colds or other illnesses. It is *tied* to it because it does help strengthen the body's immune system, which helps the body fight off colds, so it is *helpful* without being preventative :)

That's true. Vitamin C prevents scurvy, but not colds. Echinaceia is alternative medicine BS until proven otherwise. The best remedy is to eat healthfully and wash your hands often.

An expensive toilet really, that's about it. Going well over your recommended daily intake doesn't give you any benefits. The myth of taking a lot of vitamin C to improve your immunity is mostly based off the placebo effect (sounds like you may be taking advantage of that) and misunderstandings of nutrition. Having a deficiency in Vitamin C can lead to reduced immune function, but you more or less reach your immune systems capacity once you have you're anywhere between 100-200% of the RDI depending on the person. If you are purposely seeking out supplements and foods simply to get extremely high doses of Vitamin C you are only wasting food and money. It's a mistake that so many people make that it just keeps getting perpetuated. They'll hear that a certain nutrient is good for you and try to get as much of it as they can. However, the research done to show that is usually showing that maintaining the recommended intake maintains your health where it should be. Take only 50% of your RDI for a nutrient and you might have problems. Those problems decrease as you get towards 100% and the benefits taper off as you go a bit higher. Going to 200, 500, or even 1000% generally doesn't add any benefit for that nutrient, and many (Vit C isn't so much of a worry) can become toxic at those levels. Basically you're not going to hurt yourself in this case, but you're wasting food if you're doing it solely to get large doses of Vitamin C
