Question: every time i take laxatives i take 3 because 2 does nothing i only take them if i am constipated but every time i take them i get sleepy and am woken up in a short time sweating, chest pains, hard to breath, with severe pain in my back aka flank pain which is where my kidneys are, so i take 4 Tylenol pm and go back to bed then when i do go i have flank pain again and my stomach is cramping and it's hard to breathe now ima guy so it is not that time of the month and i try not to use laxatives unless i have Tylenol on hand or am ready for the pain that comes with it is this a normal reaction or can this indicate that i have kidney problems? and the laxatives are making it more noticeable? i need a answer not a lecture the answer that fits my question in the most detail will get best answer 5 stars i don't think this would be kidney stones because it's been on going for 4 years or more i hate chocolate i can't eat peanuts or peanut butter i do like spinnach but don't eat a lot of it thank you anyway dara that is a lot of info :)

I just did some research -- it DEFINITELY seems connected. I'm not going to lecture you; we all make mistakes. I'll just give you facts, ok? I found an article online that says, (and this may be confusing at first but I'll break it down): "though not directly associated with food, [kidney stone] risk can be high depending on the lifestyle and eating habits of the person. Stones are usually chemically composed of calcium, combined with phosphates or oxalates. These are minerals needed by the body tissues such as the bones. Foods with high content of the oxalate include peanuts, chocolates and spinach. This is the reason why doctors advise stone patients to avoid eating them. Fluid intake is also an important factor. Plenty of water intake dilutes the stone forming chemicals in the urinary system, allowing quick and easy excretion through the urine." So basically you are having kidney stones/pain, due to the abuse/overuse of laxatives, which has made you so dehydrated, your kidneys don't have enough fluid to dilute your urine. Contrary to popular belief menstrual cramps are not a necessary part of being a woman, excluding health problems such as endometriosis most women can prevent period pains all together, or at the very least cure the pain when they do get any easily without resorting to painkillers and without messing up their bodies with extreme hormonal methods. Periods are only as good or bad as YOU make them – if you have a good attitude towards your period this does effect your periods including making period pains less painful, also of course if you have a positive attitude about your body it also means you are more likely to research and learn about it and so find out that there are in fact a lot of things you can do to prevent menstrual cramps all together. Here are some ideas both to prevent and ease menstrual cramps; •Do not use painkillers, these actually increase period pain over time as your body build immunity and gets used to the painkillers being within your system, not only that but they simply numb the pain they do not actually do anything about the cause of the pain – pain is your bodies way of telling you that something is wrong, don't ignore it. Coming off painkillers if this is what you normally use can be hard because the next few periods after stopping using painkillers can seem more painful, but if you use other methods to prevent or cure menstrual cramps it does get better. •Take herbal teas, many herbal teas are ideal for menstrual pains as well as other menstrual or cycle related problems including curing PMS, reducing flow, inducing your periods and regulating your menstrual cycle. If you are still experiencing problems in terms of extreme pain during your period then go back to your doctor or go to another doctor, just passing you off. Whatever you do don't let your doctor put you on hormonal birth control like the pill, that is a very lazy and ignorant way doctors use to deal with the problem, in fact it does not deal with the problem at all, simply covers the problem up, if you have pain insist on tests to see what is causing the pain and discuss options. Hormonal birth control is an extreme option given side-effects and socially issues, more so when at your age suppressing cycles is the last thing you should be doing not just because it messes with your natural hormones but also because it is the best time to be learning about your cycles so to better care for your sexual health later on in life.

probably and too much tylenol is also hard on the kidneys. i'd be looking for another solution. change your diet. check for diabetes.

Man the answers for abdominal pain are way too many to even go into over the internet. She needs a doctor who has access to X-ray, CT, and labwork. It could be nothing like constipation or it could be a serious life threatening problem. Don't even speculate on abdominal pain. Go see a real doctor.
