Okay, this is gonna be long, but please read all of it to get the full story.
I'm 17, about 5'5", and 112.5 pounds. I'm a girl. I don't mind how much I weigh pound-wise, I just hate that my fat gathers around my upper legs and belly. I eat kinda healthy, healthier than most people my age. I don't eat out much or have candy much. I don't drink anything but water, and only a sip of soda at night to take my pills with. I live a mostly sedentary lifestyle, I walk about 1 or 2 times a week for 30 minutes, plus the regular walking between classes at school. I lift weights almost every other night just so I don't feel so "weak" if I ever have to defend myself against a predator or something. I'm only up to 15 lb dumb bells so far. I'm also on the following medicine:
Daily allergy pill
Birth control (28 Tri-Previfem) it's a generic for ortho tricyclin, I've been on it for about a year
Amitriptyline for headaches/depression
Will stopping the birth control help me lose some unnecessary fat? What bad side effects will I get with stopping it (acne, tiredness, etc.)?
Also, I seem to never have much energy, what could I do about that?
And I've been considering trying xenadrine to help me lose some fat and have more energy, has anyone tried this and what were your results?

jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! Your stomach would be flatter and stronger.
Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches - I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

I am trying to lose weight too before the school year starts. You need to start with a healthy diet. Not like diet you can't eat but you just need to make sure your eating the right things. you can give yourself a treat once in a while though.The you need to pick a cardio exercise/sport and stick to it. You can choose swimming, running, cycling, soccer, and etc. Once you do that you should work on it 2-3 times a week. Also remember that gaining muscle will REALLY help. Once you reach your goal, keep being active so you won't go back and gain weight.
Tip: Try to stay away from unhealthy cafeteria food. Pack lunch to help. It will be worth it
