Question: I understand that you need to lose weight slowly to be healthy so tell me if 3-4 months is a good enough time span for the amount of body fat I would like to lose. Healthily, you should only lose 5% of your total weight a month. For example, I weigh close to 250 pounds, so I can safely lose about 13 pounds in a month. If you currently weigh 100 pounds, you shouldn't lose more than 5 pounds in a month. If you lose more, your body starts to go into starvation mode which will slow your metabolism and keep you from losing weight.
