Yeah, here's a tip for you, the best way to cleanse your colon is not with fancy hippie remedies, but with sound nutrition.
If you eat a lot of red meat and greasy foods and don't get enough fiber, then your colon will always be clogged and dirty.
If you eat lots of fruit and high fiber grains, then your colon will naturally cleanse itself, that is release the waste material that passes through it.
This colon cleansing business is SH*T. HAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!
The type of cleansing you have in mind only removes material from the surface of the intestines. As soon as you eat a meal and waste passes through your colon, you will have that same surface waste in your intestines again.
The colon was made for waste, so if there is some residue of surface waste in your intestines, it is not a problem. The real health problem arises from impeded flow and improper nutrition, which has impact in many other areas beside just your intestines.
Think of it as a drain pipe in a sink. There will always be some slime and scum on the walls of the pipes, but as long as everything flows freely then you have no problem
I am not saying not to eat meat or greasy foods, only that you should consume plenty of vegetables, fruit, and grains as well.
I highly recommend that you eat a large bowl of grapenuts cereal every morning for breakfast. Put lots of honey on it for added taste and health benefits.
This will keep your colon super clean.
Colon cleansing is a joke. If you wanna cleanse your colon, go to the drug store and buy a bottle of mag citrate for a couple of dollars. Then drink the whole thing.
You will get the whole idea in about 1 hour, and spend a lot less money than you would if you went thru the TV infomercial. Have fun!!!!
Yeah I would never do this. Reasons:
1. A person with a giant tube is shoving it up your butt.
2. That's embarassing
3. Alot of risks
4. I don't want anyone shovin' things up my a$$.

Please do not give up....hang in there. The weight gain is from the disease itself. The treatment is a very slow gradual process to get YOU to YOUR right dose. That said, I assume that you are being restested every 6 wks to see if your meds needs adjusting ... if not, you need a new doctor.
There is no reason why you cannot take an anti-depressant until your thyroid is corrected.
You need to also find out if your hypO is from Hashi's. You need testing for thyroid ANTIBODIES as well as TSH. TSH ‘norm’ should be .3 – 3 (w/ most feeling best at < 2) but, for diagnosis, may not mean much if ANTIBODIES are present which is indicative of Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroiditis (cycles between HYPER & HYPO at start)…it is the main cause of eventual HypOthyroidism but worse (...OR Graves Disease – HypERthyroid from beginning).
You will have to INSIST they test for the antibodies. They can code so that ins will pay.
WARNING: Doctors seem not to want to find/treat thyroid disease. You may have to go to more than one doctor before you get the right tests, interpretation, and treatment. Best wishes.
ALWAYS GET COPIES OF YOUR LABS.
God bless you
