Question: Or does it just help shrink uterus and lose volume in your breasts. I gained weight all over with this pregnancy and feel fatter on my legs and upper arms and back, is it possible that I will lose that fat while breastfeeding?

Losing weight is losing weight. There is nothing that will cause weight loss in only a specific area.(toning is a different story) You'll lose fat all over with breastfeeding. It does shrink your uterus though. :)

Hey Dei, just so you know, I've felt your pain before. I'm a 20 year old software engineer so most of my time is spent on the computer. My brother recently became a coach for Beach Body and has taught me a lot about exercise and healthy eating. To be honest with you, weight loss isn't something that you have to spend too much time researching. It's rather straightforward and consists of pretty much two elements: 1. Getting a little more active (just walking!) 2. Understanding healthier eating habits (you can still eat unhealthy foods!) To put it simply, you need to burn calories by getting active. You can do this by walking for just 30 minutes a day. You don't have to run, you don't have to exert a bunch of energy, just walk. The more you do this the better you'll feel, the faster your metabolism, etc. Furthermore, when it comes to eating, just cut back on how MUCH you eat. You don't have to stop eating pizza or sneaking in chocolate to lose weight. A diet is more likely to fail when someone gives up everything cold turkey. Slowly begin to phase out the soda, cheeseburgers, etc. and leave those for the weekend as a treat. To be honest with you, as you exercise more and eat healthier, you'll feel better and not even want to eat those foods. Not only because you've worked so hard but because you're looking and feeling so good! Stick to that as a guideline and the fat will melt off of you. Simple! And if you feel you need a little help keeping your cravings under control, you can check out Proactol. It's a medical supplement that helps you feel fuller for longer. Breastfeeding has helped me lose 30 pounds since giving birth 4 months ago...a lot of which I am pretty sure was just pure fat... It has been lost from all over though, not one specific area.. though I wish it would have decided to go for the stomach region buuuutttt no such luck. Haha. I still want to lose 30 more though so I can get back into my way before babies body, so hopefully breastfeeding will keep helping me in that journey... Good luck!

I lost weight all over my body, and most dramatically in the past 2 months. I weigh 10 lbs less now than I did before I had babies. I am still nursing my 8 month old, and think the extra loss might have to do with him drinking more milk.

breastfeeding does help you lose weight but i would not say fat. It is true that you will burn extra calories while BF but in return you will need to eat a little more to make the milk. personally I didn't notice any notice any weight loss by BF but it is a healthy choice for your child. After i had the baby LBS and LBS just melted off fast i would say 5 lbs per day. I got back to my pre pregnancy weight in less them 2 weeks
