Question: I'm a teenage girl with type one diabetes. I weigh 159 pounds and am 5'6. I know insulin makes you gain weight easily, so it's really hard to lose any pounds. Any weight loss tips are welcome. Thanks in advance.

on your rapid acting insulin take just enough to cover the carb grams you are eating! and cut out as many carb grams as you can just as the type 2 people must do. get more exercise! walking is great exercise. an hour twice a day as fast as you can walk.

The basics of weight loss are not as complicated as people make it out to be. You need to simply change your diet to healthy whole foods, fruits and veggies and get plenty of exercise. This is hard to do for most of us because we are tempted with junk foods all the time.
