BECAUSE of some of the medications i take make me constipated i take a little mineral oil when it gets bad. If it gets real bad such as you are In the hospital I was given the over the counter relief called Milk of Magnesia. They also mixed it with some prune juice. After the dosage After a few hours I had a bowel movement. So I keep a bottle of Milk of Magnesia on hand. If you are real bad you may want to take it several times. Just give it a little time and it will work like a charm. There are over the counter items that work but not as fast. There is Metamucil or another is called Colace. You also can use a suppository.

YES...go to Walmart or wherever and purchase the handheld shower with the rubber device that fits over a bath faucet. Remove the shower device...so that you basically have a rubber hose and the end that attaches to the faucet. Get in the tub...run the water (with the device attached)...make sure it is fairly warm...and not too high on the pressure. Gently run the water over your anus for awhile...get it nice and relaxed...use some soap if your like...and at some point gently insert the hose. Water will flow into your rectum and start the loosening process instantly. Now...you can either dump in the tub or stop the flow and go to the toilet and "let go" as they say.

Movicol - http://www.movicol.com.au/ Check out the website above for more information on the medication and other tips. You should call your doctor's office and talk to a nurse. They usually have one on call even if the office itself is closed. A poor diet or lack of fluid intake can affect your digestive system and often cause or worsen constipation. There are two key ways of preventing constipation through a healthy diet – increasing fiber, and maintaining adequate fluid levels. Eating things like watermelon and cantaloupe are a good way of increasing fiber and getting more fluids.

Try a pro-bio tic or some some fiber choice tablets. A bowl of oat-meal in the morning does the trick for me. An occasional laxative is okay but if none of these suggestions work, I would try a gastro-entrologist. (Hope I was a help)

See your doctor as they should be able to prescribe a type of laxative and maybe advise about your diet and making sure you get enough fruit and fibre to avoid getting bunged up

What you really need is to get yourself to the doctor about this. You should be healed from your c-section by this time and should not be bleeding. Don't wait around any longer. Get to your doctor as soon as possible.
