Question: I m a 13 year old girl and I m 159 pounds. I have a lot of muscle on my legs and arms and little through my torso. I would like to lose some weight in my thighs and torso but I can t go to a gym. Is there any simple exercises I can do at home. Also should I be worried about being over weight or is it just mostly muscle I have.

You probably should lose a little weight, but not much. I advise watching some beginning cardio videos on YouTube. Make sure to challenge yourself. Don't stop just because you get tired or it hurts. It you exercise around 30 minutes a day and eat healthy, you should be on the right track. It's also important that you don't skip meals. Eat when you are hungry. Not eating can actually lead to weight gain or anorexia.

A doctor said you have big bones? That's crazy. You are a healthy weight. You don't need to lose anything. You need to GAIN some confidence.

If you are quite tall and/or quite muscular, your weight may be just fine. Talk to your parents and/or doctor and see what they think. If you decide you need to lose weight, don't go on a diet, just do a few simple things... Don't eat fast food. Don't eat junk food. Don't drink sugary/sweet drinks. Cut way back on carbs. Cut way back on processed food. In other words - if you eat REAL food, it will be healthy and should lead to weight loss. But if you combine the real food with eating LESS food and adding in some exercise (just take a brisk walk around the neighborhood for 30 minutes or dance like mad to your favorite music inside the house for 30 minutes) you will lose weight and set yourself up for a healthy lifestyle going forward.

140 would probably be a good weight for you. Walking is the best exercise. And cut out most sodas, candy and junk food. Eat more salad.

Limiting your caloric intake is the key to weigh loss. Exercise helps but you have to eat less. Walking is a great exercise that you can do at home.

yes, try to lose 30 pounds.....do exercise that makes you sweat a lot and only eat something "unhealthy" once a week
