Topic: Weight loss/results question?
June 20, 2019 / By Amelie Question:
The wrestling season started last week for my school so I am now doing 90 mins of work out about 6 days a week in practice. I want to lose about 15 pounds in about a month and a half to get to a good weight class. I'm a male and I'm 5' 6" 143 pounds I would say I have a little extra baggage. So my question is as an addition to working out what foods should I eat and when will I start seeing results?

Seeing as your a boy, you should NOT cut your calorie intake, but you need to replace all foods with healthy grains and veggies. Because if you limit your intake (often tempting for weight loss) when you do eat more, you will gain all your weight back.
Your gonna be exercising a lot, so I wouldn't go by the scales, i'd go by inches lost. Your gonna be mega toning! Muscle weighs more than fat!
Soo, here's some food ideas.
Breakfast: Bran flakes or oatmeal, or weetabix, or ANY whole grainy cereal you can find in your grocery store, but have with skimmed milk :) If you want add a portion of fruit, or low fat yogurt.
Have either a green tea, or skimmed milk with your breakfast.
Snacks: Any fruit (not too much, fruit has a tonne of sugar), carrots and dip, raisins, low fat yogurt (not too much of this stuff though) granola bars (may be high calorie, but are full of good grains) A small piece of chocolate if you want - but limit yourself. A bowl of cereal, or cereal without milk to nibble on. Tuna and lettuce salad.
Lunch: Tuna + cucumber/lettuce wholemeal sandwich, tuna salad, tuna + sweetcorn, ham and lettuce sandwich, turkey +lettuce. Pretty much any healthy filler. Or a plain salad sandwich with a light dressing? If you want a meal, use lighter oils and avoid heavy carbs like pizzas. + chinese food is NOT good for weight loss (trust me, i learnt the hard way...) add veggies to whatever you eat.
Snacks - same as above. Look in your grocery store/supermarket, and read the labels of everything and see what you would consider healthy.
Dinner - have anything you want. You will be working out and your body will need a substantial fuel. My dad always ate proper meals and lost weight through exercise. Just avoid high oil recipes, like stir fry or something. Don't have too many carbs like rice, and avoid adding a tonne of cheese to things. Keep salt to a minimum, but drink lots of water through the day.
You will probably gain weight because of muscle gain, but don't let this put you off or make you limit your calories. As long as you get there at some point right?
Just cut out junk, but if you fancy a treat? Have it! Just have a moderate amount, it won't affect you then.
alcohol has calories too you know sub three drinks a week for lighter versions to drop a pound a year
get familiar with quinoa a wonderful grain thats easy to cook and goes great with sauteed vegetables or mushrooms
add red pepper flakes to your pantry when eaten early in the day red pepper lowers the amount of food youll eat later
replace your scale with a tape measure aim for 32 1 2 inches or less for women and 35 inches or less for men
