I'm always constipated, what should I do? :(?
Topic: I'm always constipated, what should I do? :(?
June 20, 2019 / By Eliphelet Question:
I'm 18, almost 19 soon and I'm constipated alot now. I just eat whatever I want but that doesn't mean I eat unhealthy foods, like all day today I've been eating tomatoes. I weigh 125 lbs. I don't think I'd be able to eat salad for everyday. I use to eat salad every other day in high school but now that I'm in college I don't really buy it, or I'll eat something little for lunch. Can breakfest be the problem to this? I don't eat cereal in the morning because usually I'm not hungry enough to eat it or I don't have time. I usually eat breakfest on the weekends. Recently, I hadn't pooped in three days, and then I had a small bowl of salad and I had to use the restroom 4 times because I had mix of solid poop and diarrhea. Also, I am not a big eater at all, and usually on a regular pooping cycle I can go once every other day...

There are several things that can cause constipation. One problem in particular is rampant in the U.S. now and that is adrenal fatigue. The adrenal glands are responsible for holding water in your intestines. If your adrenal glands are fatigued, this process won't happen and you will get constipated. Many things cause adrenal fatigue. Drinking lots of sodas, eating sugar, eating a diet high in carbohydrates, low fat, low salt diets are a big factor. You need salt for your adrenal glands to function properly, but that Morton Salt ("when it rains, it pours") junk is one of the worst things you can put into your mouth. Air dried sea salt is very good for you and you should be getting about 1/4 tsp. per quart of water you drink for proper hydration.
Bad digestion is another problem. Again, eating good salt is important for good digestion. These looney toons that tell you to eat a low salt diet are just ignorant of how the body works. Salt does NOT cause high blood pressure. There are NO studies that show this. Doctors show their ignorance of nutrition when they recommend low salt diets.
If you eat lots of fiber and have the adrenal problem, you will only make the constipation worse, not better. If you are not producing enough stomach acid, you will not be digesting your food well and this can cause toxic build up in your intestines and liver. This will cause the constipation as well. You also want to make sure you are properly hydrated.
The average person needs water at the following rate:
Take your total body weight and divide by 2. That number is the amount of water in ounces that you need to drink each and everyday. Along with that, you should consume 1/4 teaspoon of "air dried sea salt" in conjunction with each quart of water you drink. This puts the electrolytes in your body that will give you proper hydration. The typical white table salt you buy in stores like the Morton Salt, for instance, is terrible for you and has loads of chemicals added. Avoid that junk. If you drink ANY diuretic drinks like, sodas, coffee, tea, alcohol, commercially prepared fruit drinks, energy drinks, etc., these all dehydrate you and you will need to add more water to the total to compensate for the water loss due to these diuretic drinks. Take the total ounces of the diuretic drinks and multiply by 1.5 and add that total to the original total to come up with the proper amount of water you need to drink each day.
A Certified Nutritional Therapist can test you for specific nutritional deficiencies and not have to guess if you are deficient in a nutrient or not and they can recommend diets, etc. that will make you healthy and not have this problem.
good luck to you

She is probably just constipated. This can happen if they have had a lot of fiber in their diet and not enough water among other reasons but these are most common. I have the same problem with my dog from time to time. Usually a little bit of milk gets things softened up and going. Hope this helps.
Get some cereal that's high in fiber and eat it once a day. This doesn't mean you have to eat it for breakfast, you can have it for a snack between classes or something. Or try the yogurt they have that's supposed to make you more regular, I haven't tried that, but i know the cereal works because I'm on iron pills and I'm still regular.

I have C type IBS (irritble bowel syndrom with constipation) which means i get constipated quite often. I find that if i eat more fruit it helps asyndromeut this can be different for different people.
the advice my doctor gave me was to keep track of what i eat and try to line that up with when i get constipated. (ie: keep a food diary)
your digestive system is also very sensitive to stress in your life, since you've just started college, you're probably more stressed now. try to releave some of that: work out, eat healthy, get enough sleep. you might find that's enough to fix your constipation!

You have to eat regularly in order to keep your system moving. Eat fruits, vegetables and whole grains including bran. Drink water regularly too.
I'm sure it's hard if you just don't feel like eating but your body can't get rid of what it doesn't have. Your body is trying to compensate for lack of nutrition.
You should talk to a doctor to give you qualified advice.

You are constipated if you do not void for 4 days. You have to eat green vegetables, drink 8 glasses of water and, if necessary, a teaspoon of mineral oil. Eat breakfast--egg whites and a slice of whole grain toast. Oatmeal also is a good breakfast, add strawberries or blueberries for variety.

Eat normally every day as you like but keep in each and every meals two things 1. Carrot and 2. Cucumber.
I hope you will not face it again in your life time if eat it every day.

could have whats called fecal impaction, make sure that your diet is high in fiber and water. Also make sure to eat low fat foods as that can make it harder to pass your bowl movements. Also when you do have a bowel movement , i know this may sound gross but look at it to make sure there is no blood, or foul odor or that it looks off color. If its any of the 3 it could be some type of condition. I would also be very careful when taking a laxative because they can be harmful to your intestinal system I would recommend getting gentle laxative, also try prune juice i know it might sound nasty but it helps to soften the stools. Also it could be medications that you are taking , if you are taking any
