Question: ok, my school class is going to throw a party and i need a healthy recipe for the food. does anyone have any ideas? i need something that is good and healthy

Hmm well that all depends on the school level.... Grade school - Ants on a log are always a hit and not many people make them anymore! For a middle school or hs I might do a veggie pizza type thing w/ puff pastry top w/ dip, cream cheese, boursin, just about anything. then put pre cut broccoli slaw or any vegetables you can think of on there! Carmel apples are always a hit esp. this time of year. Also, lettuce wraps are pretty big these days and fairly easy and inexpensive to make. I have also made 7 layer taco dip but substituted some of the ingredients to make it a little more healthy... I hope this helps! Light 7 Layer Dip Everyone loves this fun party dip, even kids! Keep it light by serving it with reduced-fat tortilla chips (homemade or store-bought) or reduced-fat crackers. Include 1/2 cup store-bought guacamole or make homemade by blending the following together in a small food processor: Ingredients: Guacamole: - 1 avocado peeled, pitted, and diced - 2 teaspoons lime juice, fresh or bottled - 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons salsa - Garlic powder or garlic - Salt to taste (optional) - lack pepper to taste Dip: - 8 ounces fat-free sour cream - 1-ounce packet taco seasoning mix - 15-ounce can fat-free or vegetarian refried beans - 1 cup diced tomatoes, drained - 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions - 2 cups shredded reduced-fat Mexican-style cheese blend (i.e. Jack and cheddar) - 2 1/4-ounce can sliced black olives (optional) Preparation: 1. Make guacamole if you haven't already and set aside. 2. In small bowl, blend sour cream with taco seasoning. 3. Spread the refried beans in the bottom of a deep-dish pie plate (you can warm the beans up in the microwave briefly to make them more spreadable.) 4. Top the beans with the sour cream mixture, then top that with the guacamole. 5. Spread the tomatoes on top, then sprinkle the green onions over the top, followed by the shredded cheese and black olives if desired. 6. Serve with reduced-fat tortilla chips or reduced-fat crackers. Yield: 16 appetizer servings Nutritional Information: Per serving (dip only): 85 calories, 5.2 g protein, 6.4 g carbohydrate, 4.4 g fat (1.9 g saturated fat, 1.9 g monounsaturated, 0.3 g polyunsaturated fat), 7 mg cholesterol, 0.7 g fiber, 258 mg sodium. Calories from fat: 46%.

Best-Ever Potato Soup Rich and cheesy; not your typical potato soup. Bacon adds wonderful flavor. Ingredients 6 Bacon strips, diced 3 cups Cubed peeled potatoes 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) chicken broth 1 Small carrot, grated 1/2 cup Chopped onion 1 tablespoon Dried parsley flakes 1/2 teaspoon Each celery seed, salt and pepper 3 tablespoons All-purpose flour 3 cups Milk 8 ounces Process cheese (Velveeta), cubed 2 Green onions, thinly sliced, optional Preparation In a large saucepan, cook bacon until crisp; drain. Add potatoes, broth, carrot, onion, parsley, celery seed, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes. Combine flour and milk until smooth; add to soup. Bring to boil; boil and stir for 2 minutes. Add cheese, stir until cheese is melted and the soup is heated through. Garnish with green onions if desired.

Lets not talk about that very dirty 4-letter word - DIET. Yes it is a very dirty 4-letter word and should be eliminated from the language. Lets talk about lifestyle food plan instead. You cannot just lose the weight and then go back to the way you ate before. The weight will jump back twice as fast as it was to remove in first place. 3 ounces is a serving of any meat product! Cook the meat any way you like it cooked, and whatever meat you like. Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Pork, Fish, all come in this catagory. Dark green leafy stuff is almost unlimited. 2 tea cups packed is a serving. tomato, celery, peppers, onions, olives, whatever else you like on your salad. Dressing on the side!! Always on the side, not poured over the salad. Have real dressing, not the vinegary sour low fat stuff that doesn't taste good. Any other green veggies you like! An amount the size of your clenched fist is a serving of cooked veggie and twice that is raw serving. Any fruits you like, same serving size as the veggies. Avoid root veggies, grain and cereal products, and limit most milk products. Remember you are setting an example for your daughter in all of this. Take her for a walk. Pram or carriage is fine. Nasty weather? have you ever walked in a museum? or a large store? It works too. Do be sure to have a "cheat treat" once a week. Just half a normal serving of something you have forbidden yourself. It prevents cravings and chucking the entire plan. You can do this!!

Wave Your Flag Cheesecake 1 qt. strawberries, divided 1 1/2 cups boiling water 2 pkg. Jell-o brand gelatin, any red flavor Ice cubes 1 cup cold water 1 pkg. pound cake, cut into 10 slices 1 1/3 cup blueberries, divided 2 pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup sugar 1 tub Cool Whip whipped topping, thawed Slice 1 cup of the strawberries. Halve remaining strawberries. Stir boiling water into Jell-o until dissolved. Add ice to cold water to make 2 cups. Add to Jell-o; stir until ice is melted. Refrigerate 5 min. or until consistancy of unbeaten egg whites. Cover bottom of 13x9-inch pan with cake. Stir sliced strawberries and 1 cup blueberries into Jell-o; pour over cake. Refrigerate 4 hours or until set. Beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with whisk until blended; gently stir in Cool Whip. Spread over Jell-o. Top with strawberry halves and blueberries to make flag. Store in refrigerator.

first i can remember was a guy named matt. he lived in the neighborhood behind mine. my friend lived there so i was over there a lot. i thought he was funny and liked his big brown eyes. he asked me to homecoming. my brother caught wind of it, went to the neighborhood the very same day and informed the guy he wasn't taking me anywhere. i dunno where he is these days.
