Question: hi im trying to lose around 6 stone in 6 months what are good snacks, what should i eat for breakfast, dinner and lunch? should i only drink water? im also trying to get rid of quite big man boobs. thanks 10 points

okay so let's start on the bottom with man boobs.....are they disproportionate to your weight....if so then watch out for soy products as they contain phyto-estrogens and could be causing what is known as gynocomastia or enlargement of the breasts in men. now as for weight......still watch out for soy as you want to foster testosterone production and not estrogen....guys have estrogen in them too and in fact testosterone can convert to estrogen so you want to look at ways to keep the balance in check. Zinc is important and most men are deficient in zinc so get a good zinc/copper supplement such as 'Synergistic Zinc' by Quest. Also look at nettle root extract as that helps unbind testosterone in the body so it can do it's job better. next be sure you are drinking enough water. You should take your body weight and divide that in half and that is the amount of ounces of water you should drink in a day so if you weighed 200lbs then you should drink 100 ounces of water or 10 glasses. This will keep you properly hydrated and will aid in fat burning as it takes water to break appart fatty acid molecules. And speaking of fatty acids, you want to change your lipid profile from being mainly saturated to being mainly unsaturated. This takes about 6 months and this can be done by increasing your intake of omega 3 fatty acids through fish or flax seed. You can take a supplement. By doing this you are replacing the saturated fats (which make like a brick wall around your sells) to unsaturated which are looser and allow the cellular signals to more easilly pass through. Increased cellular communication means better metabolism. Eat your colours.......eat a variety of fruits and vegetables and lean proteins. If you have a serious weight problem the important thing to note is that your body is there for a reason and it is there because for whatever reason it thinks that being fat is safe. There was this girl who was abused by her baby sitter for years when she was young. Your body is starving for nutrients if all you do is eat garbage so after a while you will naturally turn away from eating the whole pizza to eating more healthy because you will be giving your body what it needs and you wont feel in jeopardy of starving if you don't eat the entire fridge. Also visualize your body the way you want it to be. Get a photo of someone you want to look like (keeping in mind your bone and muscle structure) and really visualize that your are going to attain that. The best thing you can do is learn how to read nutritional labels. Some foods I wouldn't touch at all, others require moderation, it all depends on the content. Who makes a product makes a very big difference. McDonalds fries are horrible for you. But home made french fries can be just fine. It's not about the food, it's about how it's prepared, if it's processed and what the calories are made up of. For example, chips are made up of potatoes (good in moderation), fats (saturated and trans are both BAD fats and those are what is in chips so, bad), sodium (good in very limited amounts, chips contain too much sodium, bad) Almonds contain fats. They are good in moderation. They contain good fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated). Read labels, do some research. There aren't any clear cut answers.

Well, I finally watched "Super Size Me" this week, and it was amazing. I always knew how fattening fast food was, but hearing the statistics made me think twice when I go out for lunch. Basically, keep the fast food to an absolute miniumum...you will not lose weight...you will GAIN weight! Subway is much better than other places of course, but keep the fatty foods to a minimum there (don't eat the cookies, greasy chips and tell them to go easy on the condiments). Drink water instead of soda (diet soda is ok, but water is the best). Have some Sun Chips on the side...they're delicious! I understand that you're busy with work, so you don't have much time to cook. Try buying food from the market, that only needs eating or very little preparation, but is still healthy. No good can come of fast food! You could also try cooking some food, which will stay fresh and last for a few days, then alternate between different foods. Hope this helps!
