Question: In addition to cutting bad fats,meats,alcohol etc. I love carbs but, I guess they do make u gain weight...sucks.

It is the only way to lose weight. You will see a lot of people state that calorie-restriction and low fat work, but these usually cut down on carbohydrates for their success. Weight gain and obesity is a fat storage defect. Your body regulates how much fat is stored, and how much is released. The main controller of fat storage AND release is insulin. Insulin reacts to glucose in the blood. All carbohydrates convert to glucose in the blood and cause insulin to store fat. The only 'bad' fats are vegetable oils/trans fats that were CREATED as an alternative to healthy saturated fat. You will love carbohydrates less when you go on a low carb diet. After you reach a state of ketosis in around 2 weeks, the cravings subside for most individuals. Carbohydrates are extremely addictive, this is why you crave them. This is also why may individuals may experience withdrawal symptoms when you begin.

I don't think low carbis unhealthy. I am currently on a "bodybuilders" type low carb diet that actually rotates my carbs...regularly (about 4 days) I eat between 40-50 grams of carbs and the 5th day I eat around 100 grams. Knowing I can have oatmeal or a piece of toast in a few ays keeps me from cheating. I still get cravings occasionally and I keep them at bay with other rewards for not cheating...a bubble bath, tanning sessions, manicure, even something simple like new make up, lip gloss or nailpolish keep me on track. If I stray, I just hop back on the bandwagon. I'm not a fan of "cheat meals" like some people are. I AM a fan of cheat items...once only, and in moderation...and NO MORE than 1x per week. Good luck and stay on track. Think of all the good things that will come and try to keep up the will power.

lady please dont bother with the low carb, i went on it on and off, my heart is stuffed from it now

High protein, moderate-high fat and low carb diet is the best way to lose weight. You don't need to cut out "bad meats" like bacon and sausages, you can still eat them in moderation. Also there is not much wrong in eating fat. It's a common myth that eating fatty foods make you fat.

Carbs don't make you gain weight, but they are the barrier between you and losing weight. Simply put... you body needs energy. First choice is carbs, second choice is body fat. As long as you intake carbs, you preventing your body from using your own body fat for energy. It takes 48 hours for your body to realize carbs are not coming and its time to use the body fat (ketosis).

Get that metabolism goin' playa! 5-6 small meals a day with some good fiber (vegetables, whole grains), some protein (meat, milk, eggs). Since you trying to lose weight fast, watch the calorie intake and the fat intake. Excercise a bit more also!
