I'm always constipated, usually I would take a dump only once a week, but I've found that if I take 50mg of Ex-Lax 2 days out of every week, I take a dump on almost a daily basis. But is it safe to do this?

No, this is not a safe method of relieving constipation. Take Citrucel or Flax Seed. Citrucel is an orange powder available at any pharmacy or grocery store. You mix it with water or a liquid and drink it everyday and it will keep you regular. It's natural.
Do not take stimulant laxatives regularly. Overuse of stimulant laxatives decreases tone and sensation in the large intestine and may cause laxative dependence. If you need help staying regular, use a bulking agent, such as bran or psyllium (for example, Metamucil, or Citrucel.)

It sounds okay but I would up your amount of water as well. Water does the same job if you have a healthy diet. You don't need to eat prunes every 1 or 2 hours, just have a handful once a day and drink regularly.

That is part of the problem
You get reflex constipation, which is the main side effect of laxatives.
Go talk to your doctor about being regulated...
Whether by diet.
It isn't healthy to be doing what you are doing to the digestive tract, and in fact you could cause permanent damage.

no haven't u heard of girls and guys with eating disorders ruining their bodies with taking laxatives? It ruins your digestive lining and can affect your bowels too. you may be doing more harm than good. go to a dr.and if u don't have health insurance go to a clinic. what you can do is drink prune juice or eat prunes or alot of fresh fruit. ex:oranjes, peaches, plums..... or even pineapple or coconuts( natures laxative).

yes and no....its healthier than holding the waste in....however, it can also cause you to become laxative dependant, meaning after a while you would need a laxative in order to go at all.

I give my dog Cod Liver Oil and Evening Primrose capsules (1 capsule - 500mg a day). Evening Primrose is supposed to stop itching and cod liver oil is supposed to improve the coat and skin. My dog used to have dandruffy flakes, but since taking these that has stopped and has the itching.
Also consider changing shampoo? Find something hypoallergenic and good for skin problems such as Groomers Evening Primrose.
