Question: I've been feeling constipated for more than twenty minutes now and it's so very painful. I can't sit down,lay down,walk,or use the bathroom because every time I try to it hurts more. I don't know any ways to relieve it. I'm 14 and I weigh at least 102. :( Help me please? I wanna be able to go to the bathroom,especially when I need to urinate. :( How can I make the pain go away? :(

Constipation is often due to an unhealthy diet with insufficient fiber. Most people don't eat enough fiber. Wheat germ, wheat bran and Chia seeds are very high fiber foods and there is also a lot of fiber in fruit and vegetables. The first answer is spot on - constipation calls for lots of fiber, but different people need different things. All fruit and vegetables have fiber in, but food and drinks such as orange juice, prunes/prune juice and spices can help with easier bowel movements. For me, eating loads of nuts helps! For some people, taking over the counter medication such as Senokat (or anything that contains Senna) helps. It does soften the stool, but not as far as to make it runny or anything. It just makes your stool the way it should naturally be and will end your suffering! Hope this helps - if you still haven't been after a week, go see your doctor - doctors deal with constipation all the time.

Eat stone ground oatmeal with raisins or other dried fruit you put in yourself. The kind of oatmeal you have to cook. A lot of it for breakfast. An alternative would be bran flakes or raisin bran. Make sure your diet consists of nothing but whole grain products--no white bread, no white rice. etc. Eat at least six servings of whole grains a day-brown rice, whole wheat bread, etc. Eat at least seven servings of fruits and vegetables--raw carrots are especially good. Drink prune juice. That should do it.

20 minutes!! Jeez im usually constipated for weeks don't panic it hasn't been long enough to form a blockage so thats good go buy some stimulant laxitives such as bisacodol (brand name ducelax or carters little pills) these are garunteed to work if they work for me they will for u im on so much medication for pain that nothing can hardley be digested and poop out anymore I usually eat like a 90 year old man with stomach cancer and eat prunes every morning to go because taking laxitives all the time isn't too good for ur stomach but sumtimes I still can't go so I take some ducelax before bed and it turns everything to water and pushes it out and I spend a day going back and forth to the shiiter.

if you are constipated you need to drink lots of water and maybe take a stool softener. if you have any regular epson salt you can mix a small amount with water and I promise you will poop - but it tastes as nasty as nasty can taste and you need to mix only the recommended amount on the package. If you put more in you'll be on the pot for hours.

do you use tampons? Any chance one is inside you from the past. If your sister and mom are ill, there may be a food source contamination just enough to make you feel ill, shared foods, etc. Do you have a temperature? Hormonal changes can occur pre menstrually with on/off diarrhea and constipation and cause lack of sleep or disrupted sleep as well as nausea. I didn't eat much when near my cycle at your age and on up to mid twenties. Stay hydrated, no matter what, with some plain tea, no sugar, broth, not too salty, avoid dairy for now. try plain toast, no butter, I used to crave chocolate, no wt gain, could eat brownies, homemade/box or choc pudding all week, no problem. So, this would be a 2nd period in 3 months? You can be irregular in the beginning. You need a gyn exam, like it or not, I had suffered until age 15 with vomiting, until a school nurse told my mom to take me to the doc to get BCP for six months , it really helped make a difference in some wt gain, anemia, and overall feeling better. I only used it for menses regulation, a few months for similar sx around age 22, then stopped forever. dysmenorrhagia, primary or secondary. Please see gyn doc, copy this , your question and take to the doctor. You should not be feeling this way. Feel better. Happy New Year.
