I never heard that before but this is what I found... Using Pineapple to Assist Implantation: Pineapple contains bromelain. Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme that breaks up proteins that inhibit embryo implantation. Consuming a whole pineapple (focusing on the core as it has the highest concentration of Bromelain) during a fertility cycle can be beneficial. For IVF cycle: consume equal amounts over five days, beginning on the day of your embryo transfer. IUI cycle: consume equal amounts over five days, beginning on the day of your IUI. Timed intercourse cycle: consume equal amounts over five days, beginning on the day after ovulation. Note: Be careful not to start consuming pineapple too early in the cycle. Beginning to consume pineapple BEFORE the reccommended days above can actually affect your vaginal and cervical mucus PH, making it more acidic. Hope this yelps!

My son is VERY allergic to fresh pineapple. If it`s cooked, he can eat it ..and if it`s frozen, like in sorbet,he can eat it. His mouth, lips and tongue swell up..in fact, his throat almost closes shut,it`s very scary to see.He knows to keep away from it, now.The Doctor we saw DID say it was bromelain! He also said it could be something that just goes away in time...OR..it could get WORSE in time..so , please, be careful! From my heart to yours....! : )

Yes pineapple has always made my mouth and throat burn but nothing more. Chocolate used to do that but I don't notice it anymore. Sometimes different candies would also cause the burning sensation.

People seem to think Acupuncture can cure everything. I've known 10 people have it done for 10 different things and it never worked. So I'm going to have to go with a big NO on that one. As for pineapple, I've never heard of that but it doesn't hurt. If you like pineapple you might as well go eat some. Good luck. edit: I don't now if you know or not but taking prenatal vitamins while you ttc is really good too. It'll help a lot.

I was reading an article yesterday about ways to increase your chances of conceiving, and I did read something about pineapple and grapefruits helping during implantation. I hope this is true.

Fresh pineapple (not canned) contains an enzyme called bromelain that is said to possibly cause cervical softening and uterine cramping, which can in theory lead to labour. However, this is open to conjecture, and you'd probably need to eat a LOT of pineapple to have any impact. Eating so much fresh fruit would put you on the toilet way before the enzymes have any impact. I wouldn't try any DIY labour induction via eating a ton of anything specific. You need a balanced diet to help you get nourished and hydrated.
