Question: I know I already asked this but it's very very important and I need an answer very quickly I know this is kind of a weird topic, but I really need help. I'm a 14 year old girl and I just got my tonsils out about a week ago therefore I haven't really been able to eat a lot. Today I felt the need to go to the bathroom(number 2 obviously) and when I tried nothing came out. I haven't gone for a week and I don't know what to do. My stomach kind of hurts but I don't know if that's from the lack of eating or the constipation. Please help ASAP!!

Hello Candace… I’m sorry hear about you, but very one may experience the constipation condition once in their life. It happens due to poor dietary habits and lack of physical workouts. Fiber foods are the best counter for constipation but as you said you got tonsils out so you need to take drinks like apple juice and prunes juice. These fruits are highly nutritious and work as a good colon cleansers. These have significant amount of fiber that can promote the bowel movements. Pear juice also helpful for avoiding constipation.

I know this may sound a little crazy but if your dog is constipated she can eat a little canned pumpkin. it is kinda like a natural laxative. I do not recommend suppositories at all. How ever you can use a stool softener.they usually come in the form of a gel cap. The active ingredient you are looking for is Ducosate Sodium. We use this all the time at the Vet clinic I work at.

If you feel you must give her something, try Miralax. It is very safe and effective. It does not cause gas or diarrhea, it is a stool softener that helps to move the bowels without any chemical stimulants. For a very small dog, just a teaspoon in a half-cup of water should do it.

I'm sorry this is happening but believe me, it happens to the best of us. I struggled with it for almost a year, unknowing the problem to this current date. It's over, now, though. What I normally did was: Prune Juice Apple Juice Coffee Warning: Prune Juice tastes terrible Coffee: Is a natural remedy for constipation. Drink it black. Apple Juice: Drink two cups of apple juice and it'll do the trick. If neither of these are an option, laxatives could work.

Some things such as narcotics, antidepressants and other medications can cause nearly constant constipation. Some women have constipation every month associated with their period. For some people, "normal" may be going once every 2 or 3 days. Once a day isn't normal for everyone.
