With the tea I believe it is have a cup in the morning and at night, I had tabs but they made me have terrible headaches so I stoped them. And primrose I also had tabs, It should have a dosage on the side of the bottle though. "The dosage taken should be 1500mg to 3000mg per day" maybe some smart person can convert that for you =)

They are used for different things ... it is a myth that Raspberry Leaf Tea induces labor ... what it does is help tone the uterus so when labor contractions come they are more effective. Evening Primrose oil is to help ripen the cervix - it is a source of prostaglandins. Generally, it is taken starting 36-37weeks orally or vaginally (2, 500mg capsules). I took Evening Primrose oil vaginally starting at 37 weeks after asking my OB... I had my son at 38 weeks ... However, I have no idea if it helped or not. Before I started taking it I was already 1cm dilated and 75% effaced.

Evening Primrose Oil research has shown no evidence of helping in anyway during labour or pregnancy. Raspberry leaf on the other hand has had studies shown on it which have shown evidence that when taken in the last few weeks of pregnancy it can reduce the length of the second stage of labour and make pushing easier. It is thought that this is because Raspberry Leaf helps to strengthen the uterine muscles. Many people also believe that it can induce labour and although there is no evidence to support this it is not recommended to be taken in early labour just in case. So if I were you I would go for the Raspberry Leaf tea or capsules. I bought some today and it doesn't taste too bad! These websites may give you some mroe useful information x http://www.askbaby.com/raspberry-leaf-te... http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/la... EDIT: Experts are not even sure if Evening Primrose Oil is safe during pregnancy so I would steer clear just to be on the safe side. I drank organic raspberry leaf tea right up to having my baby. Never used primrose oil but I heard alot of people say they used it. Both are all natural so you should be fine. Just use them in moderation and if you are still unsure ask your MD or Midwife. Congrats to you and good luck with your delivery!!

My midwife said that raspberry leaf tea inducing labour is a myth and it's safe to drink it after the beginning of the third trimester - raspberry leaf tea contains the alkaloid fragine which is said to strengthen and tone the muscles of the uterus, helping them to contract more efficiently during labour, and if you drink it after birth it supposedly helps the uterus return to its normal size more quickly. Run it past your own midwife or doctor, or at least ask a pharmacist to be on the safe side.
